Kafunta Safaris has been well established in the Safari industry for over 25 years. With their major competition moving online and further competition with OTA Kafunta needed to start making up lost ground online. Kafunta had an existing website when they came to Kalulu Marketing but poor site speed, lack of traffic and an inability to integrate with their booking system meant change was needed.
In order to address Kafunta’s main issues, we started with a website rebuild in order to address the loading speed and integrate with Kafunta’s online booking system. We chose to build the new website on WordPress which is an incredibly versatile CMS that worked perfectly for the Kafunta website.
To generate more traffic we focused on a Search Engine Optimisation campaign (SEO). Which allowed us to rank their website organically for key terms in their industry. The campaign was targeted towards Kafunta’s international markets in Europe, America and Australia. Our SEO optimisation efforts included blog posting, the creation of safari packages, link building and technical on-page optimisation.
To grow Kafunta’s bookings, we focused on email marketing to nurture and convert potential clients. The email campaign utilised the latest blog articles, company newsletter and other informative information to build trust and encourage bookings with Kafunta Safaris.
We were able to fully rebuild Kaunta’s 180-page website on WordPress. In the process, adding the functionality to check on room availability and pricing directly on the website. The change also improved load speeds on the website by 20%.
Three months after the launch of the new website Kafunta has experienced an 83% increase in search impressions and a 35% increase in organic website visitors. We continue to work with Kafunta on the SEO campaign and expect these numbers to continue to improve (SEO doesn’t happen overnight) but it shows the importance of building a website on strong SEO foundations.
Our ongoing email marketing campaign continues to grow Kafunta’s email marketing list, nurture potential and generate direct bookings.
